Half a quantum

In Quantum Mechanics, you study the smallest possible unit within a system. A photon is the smallest divisible unit of light, so a photon is a quantum of light (not to be confused with the plural, "quanta"). All calculations are thus based on integer multiples of the basic unit.

So you can't break down a quantum any further. Because while a quantum may have mass, that mass cannot be divided. Thus the joke, So you take half a quantum...
